Day 29 – Hope [October Photography Challenge]

I’ve been grading papers all weekend.  And I’ve realized that it is my hope that I can one day stop getting coffee and food stains all over my student’s papers.  Maybe one day I won’t have to apologize for staining them.  Do you think they make fun of me in private?

Almost done y’all!  Only a couple days left.  Hang in there!

Day 28 – Hard [October Photography Challenge]

It has been very hard for me to remember the items I put in the washer that can’t go in the dryer.  I learned this trick on Pinterest.  Using a whiteboard pen, write the items on the washer.  Now hubs can take over the task and know what to look for as well.

Day 27 – Old [October Photo Challenge]

This one is old because everyone in the blog world seems to have gotten into it over the summer, and I only recently tried it out for myself: Cold Oats! The verdict you ask?  Me no likey.  I really like the chia seeds, but I didn’t love the random combination I came up with.  It was literatlly anything I had in the house.  It needed more honey, sugar, vanilla, or something. Oh well, maybe I’ll try it again next year.  I’m going to just use the rest of the chia seeds for my morning smoothie instead.  Not that far from the cold oats appraoch anyway.

Day 26 – New [October Photo Challenge]

This is the new crack on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (first generation).  Sad huh?  I’ll be contacting Samsung to have the screen replaced.

Day 25 – Bright [October Photo Challenge]

My big girl Jade learned a new trick recently.  She’s so “bright”.  She can bat paper balls now.  Even better, she can actually play fetch with those little balls.  Sadly, fetch doesn’t make for the most interesting photos.

Tomorrow’s prompt is “new”.  Can’t wait to see what’s new around you.

Day 24 – Black & White [October Photo Challenge]

Did you know I’m a bruin?  Yes, my alma mater.  Hubs has his University of Illinois mug, and every Saturday we pull out our college mugs in anticipation of college sports watching.  Well, he watches and I play on the internet next to him watching.  I like how the high contrast of the mug colors translates into black and white.

Day 23 – Dark [October Photo Challenge]

My baby Xena is the darker kitty of our two little ones.  I love this photo of her.  She’s so photogenic.  I’m also trying to foreshadow tomorrow’s prompt, black & white.

So for tomorrow’s black & white photo, make sure you think about what image would make a good black and white image.  I typically try for a high contrast photo with not too much intricate detail.

Just a little over a week left of the challenge!  Are you hanging in there?
