Day 23 – Dark [October Photo Challenge]

October 23, 2012

My baby Xena is the darker kitty of our two little ones.  I love this photo of her.  She’s so photogenic.  I’m also trying to foreshadow tomorrow’s prompt, black & white.

So for tomorrow’s black & white photo, make sure you think about what image would make a good black and white image.  I typically try for a high contrast photo with not too much intricate detail.

Just a little over a week left of the challenge!  Are you hanging in there?

Submit your post to the list below, and visit fellow participants to provide be inspired and support your fellow participants!  Don’t forget to tweet and instagram #OctPhotoChallenge and to add to the flickr collection. Find me on Instagram as well (@ourwiredlives).

    Lovely Photo!

  2. This is one beautiful cat AND photo.  I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s b&w.  Quick question….which might sound primitive to some experienced photographers haha! but is there a setting on some cameras for b&w, or do we do it ourselves while editing?

    • @Stephanie F Good question, Stephanie.  I think it’s whatever makes you most comfortable.  I’m a fan of turning photos into b&w after the fact using a photo editing tool.  My tool of choice is Lightroom.
