Labor Day Purchase

September 3, 2012

First, happy Labor Day!

Now, some notes for you.  If you’re going to buy a home, make sure you have a bundle of money ready to go for all the purchases you’ll need to make.  Even better, when you’re shopping for a home, make sure to look closely at the appliances.  How old is that refrigerator anyway?  Our refrigerator is pretty gross. It had an unusual color mold on the rubber lining and other unsavory things.

Next, the bottom drawers are made of a low-grade plastic.  Our gallon of milk looks like it is going to break the plastic drawer it is sitting on.  The bottom shelf on the door is missing the bar that keeps the items on the shelf, making it useless.

Last, it leaks.  The freezer leaks water into the fridge.  The bottom of the fridge leaks something that looks rusty.   All-in-all, I have no clue why we keep our food in it.  Our lettuce that is being stored in the refrigerator actually freezes.

Anyway, we finally sucked it up and bought ourselves a fresh, brand spanking new home for our produce and frozen goods!  Thanks to Lowe’s Labor Day Appliance Sale (10-25% off), we will have a new fridge in delivered in 2 weeks!

Take a sneak peak at this Samsung Side-by-Side Refrigerator.

We decided on this model because it will fit through our narrow 1900 build doors (with the fridge doors removed of course).  It has a filtered water dispenser with the filter in an easy to replace location.  It has the ice bucket on the door, allowing for more freezer storage.  It’s energy efficient and the right price.

I can’t wait for it to arrive!  I hope it lives up to my expectations.

Did you take advantage of any Labor Day Sales?
